A new nightlife attraction with karaoke and Chinese cuisine is open in Crystal City.
Lantern Restaurant & Bar opened at 320 23rd Street S. late last month, debuting a nearly 5,500-square-foot space decked out with high quality sound systems and LED lights. The venue is currently taking reservations, owner Shen Zhao told ARLnow.
It has six private karaoke rooms
- These vary from “mini,” starting at $50 per hour, to large, starting at $150 per hour. The two largest rooms can fit about 25 guests at once, while the smallest can fit about six guests, Zhao said.
- An $88 yearly membership provides discounts on meals and karaoke room reservations, which are available to book over the phone.
- The restaurant also hopes to host live music on a nightly basis in its main dining room, which seats 80 people.
It also offers Chinese cuisine
- The menu features both Szechuan and Americanized Chinese entrees and finger foods, which can be delivered to the karaoke rooms.
- Lantern is also offering a lunch combo deal starting at $11.95 for orange or sesame chicken with rice, a spring roll and soup.
- Happy hour is from 3-7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and includes $7 cocktails, $6 wines and beers between $3 and $5.
Cherry blossom-themed drinks are available now
- Now through April 6, Lantern is offering special sakura mojitos, mochi and dango desserts to celebrate cherry blossom season.
- Other up-and-coming restaurants at 320 23rd Street S. include La Posada, expected this spring, and Dolan Uyghur, now expected this August.
Lantern Restaurant & Bar is open from 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:30 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
