Flooding at Arlington County HQ prompts building closure

A burst pipe has flooded and damaged Arlington County’s government headquarters in Courthouse.

The building at 2100 Clarendon Blvd is closed today and county government functions based there have been shifted to virtual operations, the county said.

“All other County facilities will be open for normal operations,” the county said in an Arlington Alert message. “Visit the County website for further details and facilities status.”

The flooding happened at some point over the weekend and the county announced the building closure Sunday night.

The exact extent of the damage was not immediately clear.
