Arlington County police are investigating after gunfire rang out on Columbia Pike late Saturday night.
It happened around 11:45 p.m. near the Liberty gas station on the 2300 block of Columbia Pike. Two people got into a dispute, leading to one getting of their car and firing a shot at the other person in their vehicle, police said.
No one was hurt. Police are still looking for the suspect.

SHOT FIRED, 2025-04050269, 2300 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 11:42 p.m. on April 5, police were dispatched to the report of a shot fired. Upon arrival, responding officers recovered evidence that a shot had been fired in the area. The preliminary investigation indicates the occupants of two vehicles became engaged in a verbal dispute. The suspect then exited his vehicle, approached the victim, brandished a firearm and discharged a round before fleeing the scene. The victim drove away, and no injuries or property damage was reported. The suspect is described as a 25 – 30 year old Black male wearing a black fleece jacket, dark color jeans and a hat. The investigation is ongoing.
Also in the crime report, a female victim was touched inappropriately by a stranger in the stairwell of a Pentagon City parking garage Sunday afternoon.
SEXUAL BATTERY (late), 2025-04060132, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 3:54 p.m. on April 6, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. It was determined approximately 30 minutes prior, the female victim was in a stairwell inside a parking garage when the male suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. The victim then screamed and the suspect fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 16-20 years old, 160-180 pounds wearing a black t-shirt, dark pants and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
Around lunchtime on Friday, a man allegedly threatened police officers at the Pentagon City Metro station, then tried to kick them while being arrested.
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-04040095, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:24 p.m. on April 4, officers were conducting a fare evasion enforcement at the Pentagon City Metro Station when the male suspect approached the officers, began acting disorderly and made threatening statements. Officers issued commands to the non-compliant suspect who refused to leave the area. The officers then attempted to detain the suspect, during which he resisted and attempted to kick three officers before he was taken into custody. No officers reported any injuries. Medics evaluated the suspect on scene. [The suspect], 26, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x3), Obstruction of Justice (x2) and Public Intoxication.
Beyond the crime report, a street fight outside of some popular Clarendon bars was caught on camera early Sunday morning.
The video, posted to social media by local public safety watcher Dave Statter, shows police quickly intervening and taking the fight participants into custody — but not before some heavy blows were delivered.
