Crystal City welcomed a new destination for green thumbs over the weekend.
The D.C.-based plant boutique PLNTR — known for its 2024 appearance on “Love is Blind” — celebrated the grand opening of its second location on Saturday at 269 19th Court S. The new shop hosts events and classes, and offers a variety of greenery and home goods for sale.
It carries house plants and gifts
- PLNTR sells potted plants, succulents, cacti, orchids and “pet-safe” greenery, in addition to providing repotting services and plant “rehab.”
- Customers can create their own dried flower bouquets and terrariums. Take-home flower frame kits highlight the same craft that now-separated reality TV couple Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson completed on “Love is Blind.”
- The shop also offers botanical artwork, candles, books, tote bags and more.
Programs happening this summer
- Like its counterpart in Dupont Circle, the Crystal City shop will host numerous activities for people with an interest in plants and gardening. It may also be reserved for parties and private events.
- The National Capital Orchid Society will visit for a “Mounted Orchids and Mimosas” class on Saturday, June 14. Tickets are $69.
- Spots are still available for a beginner-friendly needle punch artwork class planned in late July.
PLNTR is open in Crystal City from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Sunday.
