Steakhouse and raw bar ‘GrillMarX’ plans summer opening in Falls Church

A family-owned steakhouse plans on opening its first Northern Virginia location in Falls Church later this summer.

The owners of Maryland-based GrillMarX are preparing to open their fourth restaurant on the ground floor at 510 S. Washington Street. After aiming for an early summer opening, the steakhouse now expects to open by late July or early August, operations manager Victoria Harvey told ARLnow.

It will have a two-story dining room

  • GrillMarX will also be equipped with two bars, a fresh seafood station, and a deck and outdoor seating area with a fire pit, according to plans published by HBW Construction in January.
  • The restaurant, which has other locations in Olney, Columbia and College Park, Md., shared a sneak peek of construction progress on Instagram earlier this month.

GrillMarX is ‘casual yet upscale’

  • The upcoming Falls Church menu includes a 14-ounce Kona ribeye, a peppercorn-encrusted filet mignon, pork tenderloin and barbecue ribs.
  • GrillMarX’s raw bar features a $79 seafood tower with 12 oysters, a shrimp cocktail, lobster tail and a snow crab cluster.
  • The restaurant also serve salads, sandwiches, burgers and desserts, in addition to a weekend brunch.
