Lesly’s returns to previous owner and Latin American menu in Falls Church

After a nine-month stint as a Caribbean restaurant, Lesly’s Restaurant Bar and Grill has returned to its previous owner and nixed its new menu in Falls Church.

The restaurant at 306 Hillwood Avenue has returned to its roots as a Latin American restaurant and nightlife spot following a dispute in management, departing owner Ricky Bartlette told ARLnow. The eatery has reinstated its previous offerings, which include entrees like carne asada and a variety of fajitas and tacos.

Lesly’s switched owners last month

  • Bartlette left the restaurant in September following an “uphill battle” to draw new business over the summer, which is typically a slow season for restaurants, he said.
  • “During the time when people were getting laid off and everything like that, it was hard for me to keep up,” he said. “I spent a lot of money on repairing some stuff to try to make the place look a lot better.”
  • The returning owner, who did not respond to requests for comment, has kept Bartlette’s renovations intact but reinstalled the restaurant’s previous skill game machines.

Bartlette starts a new food truck

  • The restaurateur launched Muncheez, an American and Caribbean food truck, last month in Prince William County.
  • Muncheez’s schedule and locations are forthcoming, but Bartlette said he hopes to bring the truck throughout Fairfax County and specifically the Annandale area.
