ACPD: Airbags stolen from a half dozen cars in Crystal City

Arlington County police are investigating another series of airbag thefts.

The thefts were reported Tuesday morning on the 2000 block of S. Eads Street in Crystal City. Police say the suspect — or suspects — smashed windows on six parked Hondas overnight and stole the vehicles’ airbags.

Honda airbags are a popular target of thieves. Similar series of thefts were reported near Pentagon City in 2024, in Crystal City and along Columbia Pike in 2022, near Gunston Middle School in 2022, in Rosslyn and Pentagon City in 2022, and in Buckingham in 2020.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (Series) (Late), 2025-10280051, 2000 block of S. Ead Street. At approximately 8:45 a.m. on October 28, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. It was determined between approximately 7:00 p.m. on October 27 and 8:00 a.m. on October 28, the suspect(s) shattered the driver’s side windows of six parked, unoccupied vehicles in the area, stole airbags and fled the scene. The victim vehicles are described as Honda models. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
