NEW: Fmr. President Joe Biden dined at Carbonara in Va. Square last night

Former President Joe Biden had dinner Sunday night at Carbonara in Virginia Square, according to the restaurant’s Instagram account.

Stories posted by Carbonara (3865 Wilson Blvd) show Biden dining with a man who appears to be former defense secretary Lloyd Austin, though the dining companion is not identified by name in the videos.

Also seen is owner and chef Mike Cordero, serving bacon-wrapped shrimp and tableside tiramisu, as well as a photo of Biden posing with Cordero and numerous restaurant employees.

Billed as an “old school” Italian restaurant and wine bar, Carbonara opened early last year to favorable online reviews, garnering it national recognition as one of Yelp’s “Best New Restaurants of 2024.”

Biden, of course, is no stranger to Arlington. In addition to campaign events and official appearances as president, Biden previously visited Metro 29 Diner on Langston Blvd and Liberty Tavern in Clarendon while he was vice president.
