WEATHER ALERT: Winter Weather Advisory issued for Arlington

A Winter Weather Advisory has officially been issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area, ahead of Sunday’s expected storm.

The National Weather Service is currently predicting 2-4 inches of snow accumulation. The flakes will mostly fall Sunday night and early Monday, with temperatures dipping below freezing after a cold rain for most of the day.

Winter Weather Advisory issued February 21 at 2:46PM EST by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 P.M. SUNDAY TO 10 A.M. EST MONDAY.

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE…DC, central and southern Maryland, and northern Virginia.

* WHEN…From 5 PM Sunday to 10 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
