EagleBank is relocating in Ballston amid redevelopment plans

EagleBank’s Ballston branch is relocating to a new space just one block away.

The branch at 4420 Fairfax Drive — currently slated for redevelopment as a 22-story residential building — is coordinating a move to nearby 901 N. Glebe Road this fall, Director of Banking Operations Joe Clarke told ARLnow.

It’s about a two-minute walk from the current address, which opened in 2011.

“The move is intended to provide an updated, modern banking environment while continuing to serve our customers and the Ballston community,” Clarke said.

The branch will be moving into a 3,768-square-foot retail bay formerly held by SunTrust bank (now Truist). The new space is roughly the same size as EagleBank’s current Ballston branch, Clarke said.

Planned renovations at 901 N. Glebe Road include “reconfiguration of interior partitions, new tellerline [and] new finishes” across 3,180 square feet on the property’s ground floor, according to a recent permit application. Window films announcing the move are expected to go up sometime in April.

The Bethesda-headquartered bank has a total of 12 branches across D.C., Maryland and Virginia, including in Fairfax and Tysons. More details about the relocation will be revealed at a later date, Clarke said.

EagleBank will have some new neighbors at the Ballston building. Alexandria bagel shop Bagel Uprising is planning to open a new location there by mid-May.
