Lebanese restaurant moving to former burger joint on Langston Blvd

A family-owned Lebanese restaurant with brick oven-prepared cuisine is preparing to reopen in a new space on Langston Blvd.

The Block Oven has moved about half a mile from 3110 Langston Blvd — now home to Brazilian-Lebanese fusion spot Tio Pelé — to 2515 Langston Blvd, above the Cloud Lounge hookah bar. It replaces a vacancy left by Burger7, which first opened in 2012.

The relocated eatery, which serves up a variety of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine, is known for its fresh-baked pita and manaeesh. It also offers pizza, salads, stews, mezze plates and hot pan dishes like shakshouka and galayet lamb.

Reopening plans are still underway but could possibly materialize before the end of April, owner Ramzi Iskandar told ARLnow. Iskandar and his family own and operate The Block Oven, Tio Pelé, Cloud Lounge and Burger7 through the Iskandar Restaurant Group.

Two Burger7 locations remain open in Alexandria and Tysons.

The Block Oven initially announced its relocation plans on social media in February before Tio Pelé opened at the property earlier this month.
