The entire D.C. area, including Arlington and Falls Church, is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch tonight (Monday).
The watch is in effect until 9 p.m.
Forecasters say strong storms are expected later today, potentially packing damaging wind gusts, hail and the heavy rain that could cause localized flooding.
More, below, from the National Weather Service.
A Severe T-Storm Watch is in effect until 9pm. Wind is the primary threat although a brief tornado or two remains possible across northeast MD. Localized poor drainage/urban flooding also cannot be ruled out given the ample moisture in place. Have a way to get warning! https://t.co/yV3U2igjzn
