Paris Baguette is now serving pastries, sandwiches and coffee in Clarendon.
The French-inspired bakery and cafe recently opened in the Hartford building at 3101 Wilson Blvd, near the Clarendon Metro station. On a visit this week, customers were sipping coffee and eating meals inside the new space, which was adorned with “now open” signs outside.
The bakery was first announced in May 2024 as one of three ground-floor retail tenants at the Comstock-owned office tower, joining confectionary chain Kilwins and wellness clinic Relive Health. It was initially slated to open last fall, but the debut was pushed back more than once.
Paris Baguette was among the most anticipated restaurant openings on tap for Arlington this year. The fast-growing, South Korea-based chain has more than 200 North American locations and has said it aims to reach 1,000 U.S. stores by 2030.
The bakery’s online menu features cakes, fruit tarts, mochi donuts, croissants and other pastries, along with salads, sandwiches and Lavazza coffee drinks. Recent seasonal offerings have included Irish cream “cruffins” and a Korean barbecue grilled cheese.
The Clarendon location is open daily starting at 6 a.m., closing at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight on Friday and Saturday, according to its website.
Owner Sean Kim was traveling and could not immediately provide additional details. Kim, a Paris Baguette franchisee since 2020, also runs locations in Fairfax and McLean, and opened a Falls Church store last fall.
A separate Paris Baguette, under a different local owner, is planned for Crystal City later this year, on the ground floor of the apartment building at 2000 S. Bell Street.
The bakery is the latest addition to an increasingly busy stretch of Clarendon. Dessert shop Scoop N Scootery opened a few blocks away just weeks ago.
