Paris Baguette plans new Crystal City bakery, prepares to open in Clarendon

Cafe franchise Paris Baguette is planning a new location in Crystal City, and a previously announced Clarendon spot is set to open in a couple weeks.

Signs for the French-inspired eatery have appeared at 2000 S. Bell Street in Crystal City, on the ground floor of Valen apartments. The location is expected to open this summer, targeting a debut “in the third quarter of 2026,” according to property owner JBG Smith.

Paris Baguette plans to serve a variety of baked goods, coffee, beverages and smoothies from its new 3,384-square-foot space in Crystal City, which will have a patio and indoor seating for more than 50 customers.

Meanwhile, another location at 3101 Wilson Blvd — first announced in May 2024 — is aiming to open on April 10, franchisee Sean Kim told ARLnow.

The bakery’s online menu features several cakes, pastries, salads, sandwiches and cafe drinks, as well as a seasonal rotation of sweet and savory goods. Current offerings include “milk & cereal”-flavored donuts, Irish cream “cruffins” and a Korean barbecue grilled cheese.

The Crystal City location will be locally owned and operated by franchise leader Sam Sadeghi. This is his second bakery, joining an existing location at Seminary Plaza in Alexandria that opened in December 2024. Planned hours are 6 a.m.-10 p.m., daily.

“Our neighborhood café is meant to serve as the heart of the community,” Sadeghi said in a release. “We are excited for our National Landing expansion and look forward to creating an inviting space where neighbors can connect over carefully curated menu of delicious food and beverages.”

Brandon Taff, senior vice president of commercial asset management at JBG Smith, said Paris Baguette “is the perfect complement to the diverse retail mix we have cultivated in National Landing.”

“We are committed to building vibrant communities that seamlessly integrate dining, entertainment, and everyday essentials,” Taff said.

The franchise also celebrated a grand opening last November at 169 Hillwood Avenue in Falls Church.
