Coffee, tapas and empanadas: DCA’s newest eats in 2025

A handful of new restaurants have landed at Reagan National Airport in recent months.

From fast-casual Mediterranean bowls to grab-and-go snacks curated by chef José Andrés, here are some of the new bites you’ll find past security in 2025.

Half Moon Empanadas

A second Half Moon Empanadas was reported to have opened this month at the airport. Beef, spicy chicken and bacon, egg and cheese empanadas offer filling protein options, while dulce de leche and Nutella provide a sweet treat.

Turnovers start at $6.50 each, and the restaurant also offers bakery items like croissants and cookies.

Zeke’s Coffee

Location: B gates

This family-owned coffee roastery, which opened in November, emphasizes its use of organic, fair trade Arabica beans. The airport location offers typical cafe espresso beverages along with some inventive drink flavors, like the Honeybee Lavender Latte and Spicy Mocha.

Capital One Landing

Location: National Hall near D gates

This 5,500-square-foot lounge by the José Andrés Group opened in late November with tapas, a full bar, meal service and grab-and-go offerings. The space also includes power outlets and high-speed Wi-Fi. Some à la carte offerings are available to all travelers, but lounge guests must hold a Venture X, Venture X Business, Venture, or Spark Miles card.

Atlas Brew Works

Location: B gates

D.C.-based brewery Atlas Brew Works brought its acclaimed drafts to DCA travelers in November. Its airport location offers Atlas’ six “core beers” in addition to two rotating draft brews. The kitchen serves casual eats like chicken tenders, wings, burgers and American breakfast platters, in addition to a kids menu.

Dos Toros Taqueria

Location: C gates

San Francisco Mission District-style burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos and other Tex-Mex eats can be found at Dos Toros Taqueria. Vegetarian fillings like spiced sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts join chorizo, carne asada and braised ancho chicken at this restaurant that opened in August.

Cava

Location: C gates

Fast-casual franchise Cava opened in mid-August with its typical Mediterranean menu featuring customizable bowls, salads and pitas.

Lucky Buns

Location: B gates

Burgers and chicken are D.C.-based Lucky Buns’ biggest claim to fame, although this airport location that opened in March also offers breakfast options for travelers. Accompanying its slate of sandwiches are loaded fries varieties such as Irish pub curry gravy fries and chili cheese fries.
