Code Ninjas programming ‘dojo’ planned at Lee Harrison Shopping Center

A kid-focused coding academy is in the works at the Lee Harrison Shopping Center, and it’s already enrolling families.

Code Ninjas, a programming “dojo” teaching skills like building video games and debugging code, has filed permits to take over a 900-square-foot space on the shopping center’s lower level at 2449 N. Harrison Street. The school plans to open in June, according to its Instagram page.

“At Code Ninjas Arlington, kids don’t just learn how to code — they build games, solve real-world challenges, strengthen critical thinking skills, and gain the confidence to create the future,” wrote the company, which has over 400 locations, including spots in Alexandria and Fairfax County.

Code Ninjas is offering discounts for founding families in Arlington and has opened enrollment for several 2026 summer camps.

Founded in 2016, Code Ninjas offers classes and camps focused on fostering “valuable skills such as problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity,” according to its website.

“We’re developing the next generation of problem solvers, creators, and leaders,” the website says. “Whether learning basic block coding, programming in Minecraft or Roblox, or getting hands-on in robotics, your child will gain real skills, boost their confidence, and have an absolute blast doing it.”

The company also recently sponsored the second annual High School Programming Competition at Arlington Public Schools.

As of today (Thursday), the retail space at Lee Harrison Shopping Center was still empty and no signage was up.

An automated message at a phone number for the address did list hours of operation, however. The academy is expected to be open Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Lee Harrison Shopping Center is also expected to welcome Cup of Bliss, a Vietnamese-inspired coffee shop, in the coming months.
