The earlier Tornado Watch for Arlington and the D.C. area has been cancelled.
Despite the high-end severe storm threat fizzling, additional storms are expected Monday evening.

TORNADO THREAT HAS DIMINISHED FOR THE TIME BEING BUT ANOTHER ROUND OF GUSTY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAY IMPACT THE AREA LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
Earlier: As anticipated, a Tornado Watch was just issued for Arlington and the region.
The watch is in effect until 7 p.m. Storms that are currently west of the immediate D.C. area have prompted tornado warnings, but the main threat for Arlington and the District is expected to be later this afternoon.
Arlington Public Schools will be dismissing two hours early due to the anticipated severe weather.
