After a sweltering day, Arlington, Falls Church, D.C. and much of the rest of the region are now under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.
Quarter-sized hail, wind gusts up to 65 mph and frequent lightning are possible with storms that are expected to form later today, according to forecasters.
