Crime report: Nine car windows smashed in Forest Glen, vehicle parts stolen from Tesla dealership

The driver’s-side windows of nine vehicles were smashed in the Forest Glen neighborhood early Sunday morning, police say.

Officers found the damaged vehicles in the 700 block of S. Florida Street, a few blocks north of Columbia Pike, after being called out around 4:15 a.m. on June 21. A witness saw three suspects try to force their way into a 10th vehicle and flee when they couldn’t get in, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

All three suspects were dressed in black clothing and face coverings, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

The break-ins follow a similar series last month, when windows were smashed and belongings stolen from 16 vehicles in Potomac Yard.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Series) (Late), 2026-06210048, 700 block of S. Florida Street. At approximately 4:19 a.m. on June 21, police were dispatched to the late report of destruction of property. During the course of the investigation, officers located nine vehicles with their driver’s side windows broken. A witness observed the suspects attempt to force entry into a tenth vehicle and flee the scene when they were unsuccessful. The victim vehicles vary in make and model. Suspect One is described as a thin-build Black or Hispanic male, approximately 18-24 years old, approximately 5′8″ tall, wearing all black clothing and a face covering. Suspects Two and Three are described as thin-build males, approximately 18-24 years old, approximately 6′0″-6′2″ tall, wearing all black clothing and face coverings. The investigation is ongoing.

Separately, a man was arrested for allegedly stealing vehicle parts from a closed business in the 2700 block of S. Glebe Road — the Tesla dealership, according to initial reports.

Police were called to the block on Wednesday (June 17) for a larceny report and determined that someone had entered the business on June 11 and made off with vehicle parts, according to ACPD. The man was allegedly seen on camera taking the parts from a dumpster, per scanner traffic.

The next day, officers responding to a report of a trespasser in the same block found the suspect and discovered the vehicle parts during a search of his vehicle. He was arrested for burglary and petit larceny.

BURGLARY (Late), 2026-06170037, 2700 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 8:21 a.m. on June 17, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined that on June 11, the male suspect allegedly made entry into the closed business, stole vehicle parts and subsequently fled the scene. On June 18, police were dispatched to the report of a trespasser in the 2700 block of S. Glebe Road. Responding officers located the suspect at the scene. During a search of the vehicle, vehicle parts were discovered. [The suspect], 48, of Arlington, Va., was arrested for Burglary and Petit Larceny.

In another incident, a man was arrested after a robbery near the Pentagon City Metro station Saturday night.

Police were called to the station around 10 p.m. on June 20 for a report of a fight. A man told officers he had been approached in the 900 block of Army Navy Drive by another man who asked him for cash, according to ACPD.

When the victim declined, the suspect allegedly grabbed cash that had fallen from the victim’s bag and struck him before running off. The victim followed the suspect into the Metro station, where police took him into custody.

ROBBERY, 2026-06200222, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 10:02 p.m. on June 20, police were dispatched to the Pentagon City Metro station for the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was in 900 block of Army Navy Drive when he was approached by the male suspect who asked him for cash. When the victim declined, the suspect allegedly stole cash that fell from the victim’s bag and struck the victim before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim followed the suspect into the Pentagon City Metro station and upon police arrival, the suspect was taken into custody. [The suspect], 40, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested and charged with Robbery.
