The underground Dunkin’ over the Crystal City Metro station has closed.

“At this time, I don’t have any information on whether this is a temporary or permanent closure,” Dunkin’ spokesperson Hannah Goldstein told ARLnow in reference to the location at 1687 Crystal Square Arcade.

Following the Crystal City Underground’s closure, a longtime women’s boutique will relocate to a larger nearby space this weekend.

Crystal Boutique’s last day at 2100 Crystal Drive is Saturday. The shop first opened in 1970, focusing on evening wear and other garments for “mature and older women,” owner Joel Cohen told ARLnow.

A donation drive for people affected by Hurricane Helene is taking place in Arlington this week.

From noon to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) and Friday, the county’s four public safety agencies are collecting supplies for North Carolina residents impacted by the storm’s destruction.

A group of Arlington Public Schools fifth graders received some unexpected attention from First Lady Jill Biden this week.

Twenty-two students from Hoffman-Boston Elementary School arrived at the White House on Monday ready for a tour of the East Wing, teacher Belinda Folb told ARLnow. They had no idea that they would be personally meeting the First Lady herself — or that five of them would be accompanying her on a private tour.

The regional SoberRide program, provided through a partnership between Lyft and the Washington Regional Alcohol Program, will offer one free ride of up to $15 per customer.

Located in the Ballston Quarter at 4102 Wilson Blvd, the “multidisciplinary” clinic is expected to open by Tuesday, Nov. 19 with 33 exam rooms.

One of the largest marathon races in the country is returning to Arlington this weekend with planned road closures and festivities.

On Sunday, the 49th Marine Corps Marathon — dubbed “The People’s Marathon” — will kick off at 7:55 a.m. at Route 110, between the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

Catboat Pizza Bar’s last planned day of service is this Saturday, co-owner Max Zuckerman told ARLnow. The seasonal waterfront pizzeria first opened on Memorial Day weekend at 1 Marina Drive in Alexandria, with spacious, all-outdoor seating and views from the Washington Sailing Marina.

A Hawaiian-themed coffee shop with an eye-catching name is aiming for a November opening in Virginia Square.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is preparing to open in the former Dunkin’ Donuts space at 3701 N. Fairfax Drive, with final inspections scheduled in coming weeks, franchise owners Richard and Michelle Lee told ARLnow. The husband-wife duo also owns a Bad Ass Coffee in Alexandria.

A restaurant, brewery and ax throwing venue plans to open in what is currently the ground floor of Barnes & Noble at The Crossing Clarendon.

Three Notch’d Brewing Company is expected to open in 2026 as the bookstore consolidates into its upper level at 2800 Clarendon Blvd, April Laney, a senior leasing agent for property owner Regency Centers, told ARLnow.
