The trouble started tragically this morning just before 5 a.m., when motorcyclist crashed on the Roosevelt Bridge. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at a local hospital and the bridge was closed to traffic for a crash investigation.
Route 110 and the GW Parkway have been backed up all morning as a result of the closure. Lanes have since reopened, but residual delays remain.
Arlington County police and medics were called to a two-vehicle collision on the ramp from Arlington Blvd (Route 50) to Washington Blvd.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and closed the ramp for at least half an hour. Three people were evaluated for possible injuries but there were no reports of anyone being seriously hurt.
Between large construction projects, utility work and street paving, Rosslyn has had a bumper crop of orange barrels this summer.
Expect more barrels and lane closures starting Sunday, as a new road paving project gets underway. Wilson Blvd between N. Oak Street and N. Quinn Street is scheduled to be repaved from August 14-19.
As of 3:25 p.m., all but two lanes were blocked and traffic was backing up before the crash scene.
Arlington County Police are on scene assisting with traffic control. To help ease congestion, the on-ramp to northbound I-395 from Shirlington Circle has been temporarily closed.
A crash on I-66 this morning resulted in four reported injuries.
The crash, near N. Sycamore Street, occurred around 11:15 a.m. and snarled traffic for more than an hour. Two vehicles, including a red pickup truck, were involved.
The fire began near the Boundary Channel Drive exit on southbound I-395 just after 8:30 a.m. White smoke could be seen pouring from a black Nissan for a period of about ten minutes this morning.
Arlington County firefighters extinguished the blaze shortly after arriving on the scene. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to scanner traffic.
A car ran down an embankment and into a ravine along the Spout Run Parkway this afternoon.

(Updated at 11:25 p.m.) Arlington County police and firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle crash on northbound I-395 just before the 14th Street Bridge.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m., in the midst of rush hour. More than 20 vehicles were involved over a stretch of I-395. All lanes heading to D.C. were completely blocked at the main crash site. Traffic was being diverted onto the GW Parkway and Washington Blvd, though HOV lanes remained open.
The driver of a car ran into the garage door to the Woodbury Heights condo building in Courthouse this morning.
The crash happened around 11 a.m., on 13th Street N. just a block from Arlington County Police headquarters. No significant injuries were reported.
(Updated at 9:50 p.m.) Arlington County police and firefighters responded to a serious multi-vehicle crash on S. Glebe Road Tuesday night.
The crash happened just before 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Glebe and 19th Street S. Police on scene reported that four people were injured, including an 8-year-old girl who was initially trapped in one of the vehicles.
Update at 6:30 p.m. — Route 50 is closed in both directions again, according to WTOP and Fairfax County Police.

A pizza delivery driver was T-boned in a crash near Clarendon this afternoon.
The crash occurred shortly after noon at the intersection of Washington Blvd and N. Kirkwood Road.
