A Ballston fitness studio and a local mini-mart are among at least 10 local businesses that have been recently listed for sale in Arlington.

The businesses appeared for sale as blind items on the real estate marketplace BizBuySell, as did several unnamed Arlington restaurants. Here’s a look at some recent listings.

The County Board is considering purchasing two single-family homes in Arlington: one for open space, the other for stormwater management.

Board members on Saturday are expected to consider purchasing one property at 1922 N. Upton Street for $1.1 million, and another at 6915 29th Street N. for $218,536.

Two brothers born into slavery in the 1820s have been honored with new “stumbling stone” historical markers on Columbia Pike.

The bronze emblems, embedded into the sidewalk at the intersection of the Pike and S. Ode Street, honor the lives of Thornton and Daniel Check.

Fall at Fire Training Academy — Medics were dispatched to the Arlington County fire training academy near Shirlington on Monday afternoon after someone fell from a distance. “An instructor suffered a non life threatening injury and was treated and transported to VHC,” an ACFD spokesperson tells ARLnow.

Ballston Garage Entrance Closed — “Now in effect: Ballston Garage is only accessible to SB Glebe Road traffic Mon-Fri 7am-4pm by using the N Randolph entrance, due to water infrastructure work on Glebe. Should take 6 weeks.” [Arlington DES/X]

DCA Sees Uptick in Available Seats — Reagan National Airport has 2% more aircraft seats available for travelers during the summer (June-July-August) travel period than a year ago, according to new data from Cirium reported by Airlines for America. Available seats are up 10.5% at Washington Dulles and down 3.3% at BWI, according to the data. –Scott McCaffrey

A colorful new spot for Tex Mex and other Latin-inspired flavors is set to open in Crystal City this week.

La Posada, a new eatery by veteran restaurateur Julian Giraldo, plans to soft open on Thursday at 320 23rd Street S., on the ground floor of Quimby on 23rd apartments.

Lower speed limits could be coming to five more Arlington road segments — including an infamous stretch of S. Carlin Springs Road.

This Saturday, the Arlington County Board is scheduled to consider reducing the speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph in five busy areas.
