The robbery happened around 11:15 a.m. at the Wells Fargo at 951 S. George Mason Drive. Initial reports suggest that a man in a black suit, fedora, and surgical mask and gloves passed a note to a teller and stole cash.

An Arlington teen awaiting trial over his alleged role in a 2023 stabbing has been arrested on a robbery charge.

Police took Kamron Tartt, 19, into custody in Arlington’s Green Valley neighborhood on Feb. 6, shortly after he was identified as a person of interest in a robbery, an ACPD spokesperson told ARLnow.

Two people were wounded and taken to local hospitals, including a teen boy with critical injuries, according to Arlington County police. The shooting happened during a party at the Crystal Towers Apartments at 1600 S. Eads Street, according to initial reports, prompting numerous people to flee.

Two people were stabbed at an Arlington County facility Monday afternoon.

The stabbings happened at Sequoia Plaza, the office complex along Washington Blvd that houses some county departments and the headquarters of Arlington Public Schools. Initial reports suggest that the incident happened at an Arlington Dept. of Human Services office.

Two men are facing allegations of assaulting first responders in separate incidents in Virginia Square and Pentagon City last week.

The first incident started around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a block away from the Virginia Square Metro station. A shoplifting suspect led officers on a brief foot chase, fled on a Metro train, exited at East Falls Church and then ran on the tracks before being taken into custody nearby, according to Arlington County police.

A former community activist is set to spend the next 30 years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting two women he lured into his car in Clarendon.

Julio Basurto, who was convicted of two counts of abduction with intent to defile plus two other sexual offenses, was sentenced Friday to 140 years in prison, though all but 30 years of his sentence are suspended.

The fight happened Saturday night along the 5100 block of 7th Road S. and prompted a call to police. One of the people in the group of juveniles seen fighting had a gun, a witness told officers.

The 18-year-old driver in a crash that claimed the life of a 19-year-old in October has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Brooks Thurston Bare admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana before the crash in Tara-Leeway Heights that killed Nicholas Rados in the early morning hours of Oct. 12, according to a plea agreement accepted in court.

A teen boy was hospitalized after being struck by a car in Virginia Square shortly after school dismissal on Tuesday.

Initial reports suggest the teen was biking along Wilson Blvd on a Capital Bikeshare bike when he was struck by a driver in a Toyota sedan. He was reported to be dazed and bleeding from the head.

Police say charges are pending against one of the drivers, who was seriously injured. The deceased, meanwhile, has been identified as a 32-year-old woman: Xuewei He of McLean.

The man was attacked with a glass bottle and a Taser by a man and a woman he knew, who then stole his wallet and phone, police said.
