Jimmy John’s Joins Parade of Restaurants Coming to Crystal City

Chick-Fil-A, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pizza Autentica, and now… Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches. The Illinois-based chain will be joining the increasingly vibrant casual restaurant scene in Crystal City, ARLnow.com has learned. It will be the chain’s first Arlington restaurant.

The new Jimmy John’s will be located on 23rd Street, next to the future Buffalo Wild Wings and Pizza Autentica restaurants. No word yet on when it will open.

Jimmy John’s has a short and simple menu but a large and loyal following, much like Chick-Fil-A, which is expected to open next month just down the road on Crystal Drive.

Stopped at a JJ’s in Sioux Falls SD this May on a trip out west. Clean, fresh, quick and simple; also decent table seating — much better than Subway. Try it out for a bite.

Huge fan of Jimmy Johns. Went there all the time at Penn State.

Make sure to check it out.

JJ’s is a minor step up from a Subway. When is Jersey Mikes Subs making its way down from the Turnpike??

  • JJ OG:

I worked at the original JJ’s in Charleston, IL, while attending Eastern Illinois Univ. from 1994-97. I think one summer I was even the day manager (what a big shot!). At the time there were maybe 3 or 4 locations, all in Illinois college towns. It absolutely blows my mind that it is now a nationwide chain and that one is coming to my hometown. I can’t wait to visit…

Down with chains. Crystal City deserves better.

Didn’t one already fail in Ballston?

I visited a Jimmy John’s when I was in Chicago over the summer. The sandwiches were great!!! Watch out subway and quiznos
