Láylí Mediterranean is looking to take advantage of the outdoor space at 3033 Wilson Blvd.
The eatery, which opened its doors last week, has applied for three use permits at the 7,100 square foot property — two of which would re-establish the outdoor presence put in place under the former Bar Ivy.
One use permit would allow Láylí to have more seats in the outdoor cafe (125) than inside the restaurant (71), while the other would allow the use of an outdoor kiosk to serve dine-in patrons and take-out orders.
An application for a third permit would allow the restaurant to host a DJ inside each night. Dancing will not be allowed, according to the county.
The county manager’s office recommended that the three permits be approved.
“With adherence to the proposed conditions, staff does not believe that the proposed use permits will cause undue adverse impacts to the public health, safety or welfare, nor be in conflict with the County’s master plans,” a county board report said.
The requested permits are scheduled to come before the Arlington County Board on Saturday, June 15.
Crafted by chef Samer Zeitoun, Láylí provides “both traditional and modern takes” on dishes from Zeitoun’s homeland of Lebanon. Traditional favorites such as falafel and kibbeh nayeh are on the menu, as well as signature items like beef tenderloin shawarma and hummus with duck confit.
The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. until midnight.
