Jersey Mike’s plans to open in Clarendon in coming days

Clarendon will soon be eating its subs “Mike’s Way.”

Jersey Mike’s Subs plans to open a new location next week at 3009 Clarendon Blvd, according to an employee.

The eatery’s full menu board has been installed, as has a shelf for mobile orders, based on what ARLnow could see from outside. Tables and wall graphics have also been added to the space.

Additionally, a wholesale restaurant distributor was in the process of delivering supplies today (Tuesday).

The sandwich shop’s business summary on Google says it is supposed to open tomorrow (Wednesday). A request for comment left with the shop’s franchisee went unanswered by publication time.

Founded in 1956, Jersey Mike’s has grown its portfolio to nearly 3,000 in the U.S. alone. Though Arlington does not currently have a Jersey Mike’s, another location at 3253 Columbia Pike is listed as “coming soon” on the chain’s website.

Plans for the Columbia Pike location have been in the works since at least last summer.

Jersey Mike’s traditionally offers more than 20 different sandwich options, which can be tweaked by customers. The chain is popularly known for allowing sandwiches to be ordered “Mike’s Way,” with onions, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, olive oil and oregano.

The forthcoming Clarendon location, which replaces the Dunkin’ that closed in 2021, will be open daily 10 a.m-9 p.m.
