A karaoke bar and restaurant in Crystal City plans to open its doors in the next few weeks.
After nearly a year of development, Lantern Restaurant & Bar is preparing to open toward the end of this month or in early January, co-owner Shen Zhao told ARLnow.
The roughly 5,500-square-foot space at 320 23rd Street S. will include six private karaoke rooms, a dining room and a performance stage, plus a full-service bar and outside patio.
The menu will include fusion dishes spotlighting Chinese and other Asian cuisines. At least half the menu will be quite spicy, said Zhao, who is also the owner of Supreme Hot Pot on Columbia Pike.
The restaurant, which will be available for takeout and third-party delivery, should be able to accommodate a little over 200 guests.
The karaoke bar is one of a few upcoming dining options on the ground floor of the Quimby on 23rd (formerly The Buchanan) apartments. Other planned additions include Dolan Uyghur and the Tex-Mex restaurant La Posada.
