Waterhouse Coffee closes in Clarendon amid redevelopment plans

A cafe and juice bar across from the Clarendon Metro station closed permanently this month.

Waterhouse Coffee at 3033 Wilson Blvd served its last customers on Dec. 1. The cafe is the latest tenant to shutter on the ground floor of the office building amid redevelopment plans.

Waterhouse Coffee opened in 2018

  • The cafe brought coffee, tea, smoothies and all-day breakfast fare under owner and manager Connie Kim.
  • A storefront message thanks customers for their “support and patronage over the past 6 years.”
  • This follows the June closure of a UPS Store at the same location.

3033 Wilson Blvd is slated to become an apartment building

  • Carr Properties intends to demolish the current structure to build a 312-unit apartment building with 7,000 square feet of retail.
  • The company estimates the project will be complete by August 2028.
  • Planned amenities include a co-working space, a gym, a courtyard and a pool deck.

Láylí Mediterranean remains open next door

  • After its June opening, Láylí Mediterranean restaurant is still in business at 3033 Wilson Blvd.
  • The business is currently hiring managers, cooks and servers, according to a storefront posting.
  • Láylí declined to comment on the building’s redevelopment plans. Carr Properties did not respond in time to a request for comment.
