Winter menu and ski-resort decor arrive at Water Bar

With thick blankets and twinkling lights, a Crystal City oyster and cocktail bar is attempting to capture the charm of a cozy ski lodge this winter.

Water Bar is debuting après-ski themed decorations alongside its seasonal treats this month at Water Park (1601 Crystal Drive). The wintry decor accompanies the park’s ongoing cold-weather activities.

The ski lodge theme is here until late March

  • Evergreen garlands, plaid blankets and ski-themed decorations accent Water Bar’s lounge area.
  • The winter menu features warm bites including baked brie, Waygu birria empanadas and milk chocolate fondue — plus holiday cocktails and s’mores to go.
  • A representative recommended the shellfish chowder and lobster mac and cheese entrees to ARLnow.

S’mores and ice skating are available nearby

  • Nearby in Water Park, four propane fire pits are open for s’mores making at Crush Pizza and Wine.
  • Ice skating is also available through Feb. 21 at the park’s 19-by-19 foot popup rink.
  • Skating ends at 8 p.m. each day. Thirty minutes of skating costs $35 per person, and reservations must be booked in person.
