Get your sledding in now while you can.
A few freezing sprinkles or additional flurries are possible this morning, forecasters say, but temperatures are set to rise above freezing in a couple of hours. The warm up, combined with expected rain tonight, should melt much of the 5-6 inches of snow that fell yesterday. Tomorrow’s high of 54 should finish the job.
Arlington County, meanwhile, has closed facilities. Libraries, community centers, county offices and the courthouse are all closed today (Wednesday), as announced last night, and trash collection is canceled for the day. Arlington Public Schools are also closed, among with other D.C. area school systems.
The federal government, on the other hand, is open but on a two hour delay.
Among transit agencies, ART bus service is suspended until 10 a.m. and Metrobus is operating on a severe snow plan, for now, while Metrorail is running at normal.

…PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE THIS MORNING…
Patchy light wintry precipitation may persist through this morning, likely in the form of freezing drizzle or even some light flurries. Temperatures should gradually rise above freezing throughout the morning from east to west.
Slick spots will be possible, especially on elevated and untreated surfaces. Motorists and those venturing outside today should be cautious for any slick spots that they encounter. If traveling, especially given the snowfall overnight as well. Give yourself extra time to reach your destination, and allow extra stopping space between you and the car in front of you.
