Clarendon-based mobile juicery hosts pop-ups at local gyms and stores

A new Clarendon-based mobile juice bar has been making pop-up appearances at gyms and retail spaces around Arlington and Alexandria.

SelfCare & Co, which sells cold-pressed juice at fitness-themed events and businesses, aims to share the “transformative power of food.”

“I have no complaints,” founder Brooklyyn Reddish, who ultimately hopes to find a brick-and-mortar space, told ARLnow. “It’s more than I ever literally thought it would be.”

SelfCafe & Co opened in July

  • After years of stomach pain and no resolution from doctors, Reddish started experimenting with homemade juices as a home remedy.
  • “When I first started, I was researching recipes, like, ‘what are cold-pressed juices that are good for your stomach and digestive system,'” Reddish said. “That’s kind of how it started for me … and it did start helping me.”
  • She began offering her creations to curious family and friends, and soon felt inspired to create SelfCare & Co, to share homemade products with more people.

She sells juices and ‘wellness shots’

  • Each juice or two-ounce “wellness shot” combines different fruits, vegetables and herbs with a goal of supporting customers’ health.
  • The green “Metabolic” juice, for example, aims to boost digestion with kale and pineapple while being gentle on the stomach.
  • The business also sells one rotating, seasonal juice. The current offering is made with pomegranate and apple.

The next event is this weekend

  • The shop plans to set up from 8:30 a.m. to noon this Saturday at Pure Barre, a gym studio in Clarendon.
  • Reddish has also appeared at local solidcore, Club Pilates and lululemon locations across Arlington and Alexandria.
  • Reddish eventually hopes to find a storefront, where she can expand the menu to include smoothies, smoothie bowls and toast.
