The first Arlington location of the French-inspired cafe chain Maman is expected to open in Courthouse within the next few weeks.
The New York City-based franchise is preparing to open on the ground floor of The Commodore apartments at 2055 15th Street N., in the corner retail bay next to YogaSix. It hopes to serve its first customers by the end of the month, co-owner Elisa Marshall told ARLnow.
“We are beyond excited to bring maman to Courthouse this October, and kick things off with an opening filled with community, flavor and beauty,” Marshall said. “Guests can enjoy our full espresso and tea menu alongside house-made pastries and some of our fan-favorite savory dishes, with fun seasonal surprises.”
It’s targeting a ‘mid-late October’ opening
- The roughly 3,000-square-foot cafe will have a kids’ play area and floral installations by Floratorium, among a cozy interior “designed with warm vintage details,” a representative said.
- A forthcoming menu includes the chain’s staple baked goods like homemade tartines and seasonal quiche, as well as entrees like sandwiches and salads.
- The chain previously hoped to open this summer but is now aiming for mid- to late-October, a representative told ARLnow.
This is Arlington’s first Maman
- The cafe currently has seven D.C. locations and an eighth outpost in Fairfax County. Construction on a new Old Town Alexandria location began last month.
- The Commodore’s developing retail bays include recent additions like Rumble Boxing, Playa Bowls and Saki, a new Japanese restaurant that plans to open this winter.
