Falafel Inc opens on Restaurant Row after closing Water Park kiosk

A fast casual Middle Eastern restaurant is now open on Restaurant Row after relocating from Water Park.

Falafel Inc opened last week at 500 23rd Street S. after departing its previous Crystal City kiosk at 1601 Crystal Drive. The D.C.-based chain, known for its affordability and award-winning falafel, replaces a bank that closed in 2023.

Free food for local workers

  • Through the end of the month, the new Crystal City spot is offering one free item to anyone with an ID showing that they work in the area, according to a release.
  • The restaurant’s menu features its popular falafel in $4 sandwiches and $5 bowls, as well as chicken shawarma and fries seasoned with za’atar.

Daily hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

  • The new restaurant joins several Falafel Inc locations across D.C. and Northern Virginia, including in Tysons, Old Town Alexandria and Fairfax County’s Mosaic District.
  • The business’s Water Park kiosk remains vacant alongside the former Brij Coffeehouse. Both vendors have yet to be replaced.
