BGR: The Burger Joint closing next week in Lyon Village after 15 years

A popular burger restaurant is closing its doors next week after more than 15 years in Lyon Village.

BGR: The Burger Joint — which opened in 2010 at 3129 Langston Blvd, in the Lyon Village Shopping Center — will serve its final customers on Dec. 24, an employee told ARLnow. The corporate office for BGR did not respond to a request for comment.

The Lyon Village Shopping Center lost its anchor tenant, a Giant supermarket, in March 2024. However, Sprouts Farmers Market announced this May that it planned to open in that space.

BGR, a local chain, ranked as Arlington’s No. 2 burger spot in an ARLnow Reader’s Choice poll last year.

It offers build-your-own options for beef burgers, Beyond burgers, turkey burgers and chicken breasts, with toppings like lettuce, beefsteak tomato, guacamole and bacon onion marmalade.

The restaurant also sells 10 different “craft burgers” — like the Teriyaki Tuna, with sushi-grade ahi tuna and grilled pineapple, and the Wagyu Wellington, featuring a truffle-infused Wagyu patty — designed by corporate chefs.

Going into 2026, only one of BGR’s six locations will remain in Northern Virginia, in the Springfield area of Fairfax County. Arlington previously had another BGR spot in Clarendon, but it was short-lived, opening in 2011 and closing in 2014.
