‘Eat More Taco’ Mexican street food spot opens in Ballston

A Mexican street food-inspired eatery with an all-halal menu began serving diners last week in Ballston.

Eat More Taco opened earlier this month at 708 N. Glebe Road, adding another option for Latin-inspired cuisine near Ballston Quarter.

The restaurant replaces Grill Kabob, which closed last month. It’s under the same ownership, according to Virginia business records.

Though the taqueria joins local competitors including Uncle Julio’s, El Rey and Taco Bamba, Eat More Taco has the distinction of being one of Arlington’s only Mexican restaurants with a completely halal menu.

That menu is led by tacos, with six signature options including the Governador Shrimp Taco, featuring sauteed shrimp, peppers and cheese, and the QuesaBirria Taco, which is stuffed with the slow-braised meat and cheese.

Among the most impressive is the Machete Taco, a 20-inch-long “beast” filled with cheese and a choice of protein that “delivers bold flavor in every bite.”

Other offerings include burritos and burrito bowls (starting at $11.89), quesadillas (starting at $11) and pizza birria: shredded birria layered on a pan-baked crust with cheese.

Eat More Taco is open daily from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
