An ice cream sundae shop with late-night hours, a delivery service and a popular online presence is expanding to Clarendon.
The Scoop N Scootery is coming to 1138 N. Irving Street, in the former Jimmy John’s space at the Beacon building. The franchise has amassed 2.3 million TikTok likes on videos of its elaborate sundaes — available for delivery until 2 a.m. — that come with toppings like buttercream frosting, brownie bites, graham crackers and blueberry muffin crumbles.
The new location plans to offer more than 70 kinds of sundaes, milkshakes, cookies and floats, a representative told Northern Virginia Magazine. An online menu page for the Clarendon spot includes sundaes like a s’mores-inspired “Smokey Da Bear,” the “Get Baked” with cookie dough, toffee and chocolate buttercream, and a red velvet cookie-topped “French Revolution.”
Prices range from $6.69 for a “mini” sundae to $14.19 for the “legendary” size.
The sundae shop has eight other locations across Massachusetts, North Carolina, Texas, Florida and New Jersey. In Clarendon, it hopes to open sometime this summer.
The Scoop N Scootery started out in 2014 as a Boston-area ice cream truck before moving into its first brick-and-mortar in the town of Arlington, Mass.
“Using our knowledge from the truck days to develop a method of training geared towards our fundamental triple threat: quality, aesthetic and speed,” the shop’s website reads.
The Clarendon shop will be the chain’s first location in Virginia. Planned hours are 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 3-10 p.m. Sunday.
