Bluefish Bistro closes in latest business shakeup along Columbia Pike

A well-loved sushi restaurant on Columbia Pike has closed after less than three years in business.

Bluefish Bistro is no longer in business at 950 S. George Mason Drive, owner Andy Park told ARLnow. The eatery, which offered a variety of sushi rolls and sashimi, opened in November 2023 at the mixed-use Centro Arlington development and had secured a 4.9-star average rating on Google.

Park and Kimco Realty did not respond to a request for further details.

Elsewhere on Columbia Pike, Takohachi Japanese Restaurant appears to have shuttered on the ground floor of Penrose Square Apartments. The restaurant’s owner could not be reached for comment, although a Google profile describes the business as “temporarily closed.”

The Centro Arlington development has another vacancy to fill. The large, 51,000-square-foot retail bay left by Harris Teeter has remained empty since last summer and is currently “available,” according to an online site plan from Kimco Realty.

Meanwhile, plans are materializing for the new Title Boxing Club. The fitness studio, opening in the former Orangetheory space, intends to open for business on Saturday, May 2, according to its Instagram.
