RAMMY Awards finalists include Taqueria Xochi, Queen Mother’s Kitchen and other local spots

Arlington and Falls Church are continuing to maintain a strong presence as this year’s RAMMY Awards advance toward their final stage.

Ten restaurants and restaurateurs representing establishments in the two localities have been chosen for final consideration in the 44th annual RAMMYS.

Three fast-casual restaurants with a foothold in Arlington are still in the running: Andy’s Pizza, Call Your Mother and Queen Mother’s Kitchen. Other finalists include Taqueria Xochi for Best Casual Restaurant and Bridie McCulla of Northside Social, who is up for “Pastry Chef or Baker of the Year.”

Ruthie’s All Day is also nominated for “Best Brunch of the Year,” a category decided through public voting. This year’s voting period runs from April 20 through May 17, and will be available on NBC4 Washington’s website.

The yearly program, hosted by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, “recognizes excellence across the Washington metropolitan area’s restaurant and foodservice community, from standout culinary and beverage programs to the leadership shaping the industry’s future.”

Finalists were selected from the RAMMYS’ pool of semifinalists, revealed last month.

Winners will be announced during an awards show and gala on June 29 at The Anthem in D.C. Tickets are on sale now.

“At The RAMMYS, you’re immersed in the full experience of what makes the D.C. region such a powerhouse for dining,” RAMW President and CEO Shawn Townsend said in a press release. “These Finalists aren’t just doing exceptional work, they’re also elevating the standard and creating the kind of special moments that keep people coming back and talking about the Washington region as a world-class dining destination. That momentum is real, and it keeps on growing.”
