A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Arlington amid sustained heavy rainfall.
The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m. Nearly an inch of rain has fallen in at least one northern Arlington neighborhood with the latest wave of storms, which also prompted a Flood Watch following heavy rain earlier today.

* At 434 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Earlier: A Flood Watch has been issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area.
The watch is in effect until midnight. Forecasters say additional heavy rainfall is possible Sunday afternoon and evening, which could lead to flooding given that the area has already received 1-2 inches of rain.
