Restaurants across Arlington and Falls Church received acclaim in Northern Virginia Magazine this month.
The magazine’s list of the “50 Best Restaurants in Northern Virginia” in 2024 featured 14 establishments from the county and The Little City. Featured cuisines ranged from sushi and Italian, to Vietnamese and tapas.
Two Falls Church restaurants made the list’s top 10.
No. 4: Ellie Bird, 125 Founders Avenue
Described by critics as “consistently surprising and innovative,” modern American restaurant Ellie Bird is no stranger to praise.
The 2024 RAMMY’s Best New Restaurant from Falls Church has received glowing recognition from publications like The New York Times and The Washington Post since it first opened in April 2023.
Owners Carey and Yuan Tang curate a seasonal menu that “artfully incorporates Asian ingredients into familiar Western dishes.”
No. 8: NUE: Elegantly Vietnamese, 944 W. Broad Street
Falls Church made the top 10 again with another rising star, nearby NUE: Elegantly Vietnamese, “where some of the world’s best dishes … are somehow improved with a fresh edge of Viet flavors,” critics wrote. The restaurant founded by Tuyet Nhi Le celebrated its grand opening last summer.
The magazine praised NUE’s “grill-blackened Vietnamese sausage and a mound of garlicky rice,” bathed in a thick jus with flavors of anise and clove. The restaurant was also lauded for its ambiance and floral interior.
Two other Falls Church restaurants appeared in the top 50 list.
