‘Wonder’ celebrity chef food hall announces new Rosslyn location

A celebrity chef-partnered food hall and delivery service plans to open in Rosslyn as part of a new D.C.-area expansion.

Wonder, which aims to make “great food more accessible” by hosting various celebrity chef-founded restaurants, recently applied for a permit to renovate “an existing restaurant” at 1771 N. Pierce Street. This is the same address as the former Rosslyn Foxtrot.

It plans to open by this fall

  • Wonder applied for a mechanical permit on the ground floor of Cortland apartments last month.
  • A flagship D.C. location is expected to open in June on D.C.’s 14th Street. A total of seven regional outposts are in the works.

It was founded by Walmart’s ex-CEO

  • Lore, a self-described “serial entrepreneur,” founded the Wonder Group in 2018 as a food delivery service.
  • The group has made several big-name acquisitions in recent years, including Grubhub, Blue Apron and the media company Tastemade.
