The Arlington County Police Department is searching for two suspects accused of carjacking a man in Crystal City early this morning (Tuesday).
Police said the masked suspects were armed with knives when they approached the victim on the 2300 block of S. Eads Street around 2:30 a.m. and demanded the keys to his vehicle.
The two suspects knocked the man to the ground and, during “a struggle,” took his keys and cell phone before fleeing the area in the victim’s Lincoln MKZ sedan, authorities said. Medics treated the victim for minor injuries and his phone was later recovered.

CARJACKING, 2025-09300017, 2300 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 2:32 a.m. on September 30, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking towards his parked vehicle when he was approached by two male suspects who displayed knives and demanded his car keys. The suspects then knocked the victim to the ground and a struggle ensued during which the suspects stole the victim’s keys and cell phone before fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by medics at the scene. During the course of the investigation, the victim’s phone was recovered. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The suspects are described as two medium-build Black males, approximately 5’8”-5’10”, 180-200 pounds, wearing all black and face coverings. The victim’s vehicle is described as a Lincoln MKZ with Virginia plates. The investigation is ongoing.
This is one of several carjackings reported in the Crystal City area over the past year or so.
ACPD’s crime data hub reports a total of four carjackings this year throughout Arlington, in addition to a number of attempted carjackings. Last year, the county experienced nine carjackings, down significantly from 25 in 2023, according to online crime data.
