A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area.
Storms are expected later today and forecasters say they could pack quarter-sized hail, 65 mph wind gusts and frequent lightning. The watch is in effect until 9 p.m.
Last night a line of storm prompted a Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service. Despite lots of lightning and thunder, the line fizzled as it started to cross into Arlington.
