ACFD Firefighter Remembered — “The Arlington County Fire Department is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Firefighter Lloyd Edwards, who died May 5, 2025. Firefighter Edwards joined the department on 11/18/2002 as a member of Recruit Class 58. A house fire in Westover sent one person to the hospital Thursday night.

The blaze was reported around 7:30 p.m., in the basement of a home on the 5900 block of 16th Street N., about two blocks away from Westover’s shops and restaurants.

‘Fyre Festival’ Vibes at Trump Event — “Attendees of the event also contended that the hosts acted unprofessionally. Arlington along other parts of Northern Virginia and the D.C. area are at risk of severe storms and flooding tonight (Monday).

The region is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until midnight, with ping-pong-size hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph possible, according to the National Weather Service.
