Heat index values up to 107 are expected Friday afternoon, creating hazardous conditions for anyone working or spending extended time outside.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area.
A line of storms packing damaging wind gusts is quickly approaching from the west. The warning is in effect from now until 8:30 p.m.
After a sweltering day, Arlington, Falls Church, D.C. and much of the rest of the region are now under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.

As if it wasn’t humid enough already, Thursday will be even more sweltering as temperatures rise this afternoon.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for Arlington. That means hazardous conditions for those working outside and no outdoor recess for Arlington Public Schools students.
