A Virginia Square park is becoming something of a destination for local food trucks.
At least three portable establishments have set up shop at Oakland Park since 2023. Though it only takes up a single block, the green space at 3705 Wilson Blvd is becoming a destination for locals in need of a hot drink or a bite to eat.

Question: What areas of Northern VA have the most and least expensive new construction homes?
Answer: The biggest and most expensive new builds in Northern VA are in Great Falls and Mclean. Prince William County offers the most affordability, along with the most house and land for your money.
The following data is based on MLS sales of new construction detached homes in Northern Virginia from 2025-June 1 2026.
Great Falls, Mclean, and Everybody Else
The small town of Middleburg is the only city with an average new home price over $3,000,000.
Dumfries and Bristow are the only Northern VA cities where the average new home costs less than $1,000,000
The average price for a new home in Vienna is $22,000 higher than Arlington
How Big Are New Homes?
Most new homes throughout Northern VA come in around 5,000-6,000 finished square feet
Mclean (8,450) and Great Falls (8,700) average nearly 2,000SF more than homes in Vienna, the city with the third largest average new home
Despite having significantly more room to build, homes in Loudoun County and Prince William County are constructed with a “modest” 4,800 finished SF
On average, 5,700 finished SF in Northern VA is filled with 5.4 bedrooms and 5.1 full bathrooms
If Yard and Privacy Matter the Most
The average new home in Prince William County sits on nearly 2.7 acres and provides new home buyers with the lowest cost per acre for a new home
Privacy in your new home is hard to come by in Arlington, Ashburn, Brambleton, Dumfries, and Bristow with average lot sizes under 0.2 acres
Great Falls (1.69) and Oakton (2.07) are the only jurisdictions within Fairfax County with an average lot size over one acre
In Northern VA, the average new home is built on 0.84 acres
Two police officers and at least one store security guard were hurt trying to take a theft suspect into custody Friday.
That’s according to the latest Arlington County Police Department crime report. Police say the man robbed a store in Pentagon City around 3 p.m., implied he had a weapon, and fled to the Metro station, where a confrontation with law enforcement took place.

NAACP Blasts County Board — “With Arlington County Board members this week preparing to downsize the government’s Human Rights Commission and limit its authority, a civil-rights group is calling foul. The NAACP Arlington branch on Aug. 23 came out swinging against proposed changes, suggesting it is a case of county officials retaliating against the body for its past actions. YHS Coach Nears Milestone — “Victory number 300 in Bruce Hanson’s high-school football coaching career could come early in the 2024 season. The longtime Yorktown Patriots head coach begins the campaign with 296 career wins – 266 of those at Yorktown. The other 30 came in his only other gig as a head coach, from 1974 to 1979, of the Wakefield Warriors. Both schools are in Arlington. As the 2024-25 school year starts today, Arlington Public Schools is launching several new initiatives to tackle student safety and enrichment.
Approved changes for this year include a new attendance policy for high school athletic events, a new after-school program pilot, and an extra five-day weekend in November.

The annual Falls Church Festival is back next month, bringing the Little City a day of live entertainment, activities and food tasting with 90 vendors.
Now in its 48th year, the festival is scheduled to run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, outside City Hall at 300 Park Avenue. Admission is free and food, drink and ride tickets can be purchased on site.

Former President Donald Trump attended a wreath laying at Arlington National Cemetery and made a campaign stop in Falls Church earlier today (Monday).
Trump visited the cemetery to mark the three-year anniversary of a suicide bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members. He then made an appearance at Truong Tien Restaurant at the Eden Center, alongside Vietnamese-American U.S. Senate candidate Hung Cao (R).
