Thursday was a busy night of vehicular incidents for Arlington County first responders.

Less than two hours after a pair of pedestrians were struck and injured in an alleged road rage hit-and-run, another pedestrian was struck a few blocks away in Ballston. A woman crossing in the crosswalk at Fairfax Drive and N. Utah Street was hospitalized, police say, after she was struck by the driver of a pickup truck.

Two people suffered serious injuries after reportedly being struck by the driver of a Jeep in a road rage incident.

The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and N. Wakefield Street in Ballston, near SER Restaurant. Initial reports suggested both victims suffered serious traumatic injuries after being intentionally struck by a driver.

A driver has died after a crash in Ballston Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. on N. Taylor Street, between Wilson Blvd and Fairfax Drive, just over a block away from the Metro station.

A new medical spa and wellness studio are coming to Ballston, taking over the location of a wine bar that closed last month.

McLean-based Evexia Med Spa plans to open a second location at 4301 Wilson Blvd — the former Grand Cru Wine Bar and Bistro space — alongside a new “recovery wellness center,” Evexia Bio Studio, Evexia Managing Partner Chirjeev Sawhney told ARLnow.

A crash this afternoon near Ballston pulverized a bus shelter and littered a sidewalk with strewn trash.

The reported single-vehicle crash happened just before 1 p.m. Friday on the 3900 block of Wilson Blvd, at the entrance to the parking lot of the &pizza, Gold’s Gym and other businesses.

The farmers market in Ballston is shifting to stay open all year long, allowing shoppers to continue visiting through the winter.

The Freshfarm Ballston Market, located at 901 N. Taylor Street, will be open from 3-6 p.m. during the winter season, just an hour shorter than its hours of 3-7 p.m. between April and November, the Ballston BID announced yesterday (Monday).

A local chain of food carts offering halal cuisine has expanded to Ballston.

Tasty Treat parked another cart outside Ballston Quarter last month, bringing a new, locally owned fast casual option to the neighborhood. Located on the Wilson Blvd side of 850 N. Randolph Street, this is the business’s third spot in Arlington, joining others in Rosslyn and Crystal City.

A Ballston lunch spot and corner store has shuttered after five years.

D.C.-based Union Kitchen closed its lone Arlington location at 4104 Wilson Blvd last week. The business opened at 4104 Wilson Blvd, between Punch Bowl Social and Compass Coffee, in summer 2020.

An Afghan restaurant across the street from Ballston Quarter has closed after a little less than three years in business.

Grill Kabob, which opened in early 2023 and was one of 14 D.C.-area locations for the family-owned chain, is now listed as “permanently closed” on Google. It provided the following storefront message.


Events

Santa Claus is coming to Ballston in just a couple weeks.

The champion of Christmas cheer will set up shop on Dec. 5 on the first floor of the Ballston Quarter (4238 Wilson Blvd). This is in addition to another Santa outpost at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, where families began getting photos today (Friday) near Nordstrom on the first level.
