Eight businesses in the Rosslyn and Courthouse areas are cleaning up after a series of early morning burglaries.

The break-ins happened early Thursday morning. Police say a group of 2-3 male suspects wearing all black, with their faces covered, smashed glass doors and windows in order to access the businesses and steal safes and cash drawers.

After 20 years at the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse, the beloved Columbia Pike venue’s owners are passing the torch to the business’s longtime manager.

Pete Fejeran, who has managed the comedy club and theater at 2903 Columbia Pike for the past 12 years, has taken ownership alongside his wife Kathryn McAbee. Former owners Tim Clark and Greg Godbout are stepping down to pursue “other opportunities,” Fejeran said.

Rooftop Recess is soft opening at 4 p.m. at 2424 Wilson Blvd, where Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill closed in 2023. The three-level restaurant offers contemporary American food, brunch and cocktails, with a relaxed atmosphere and garden-inspired interior.

The fast-casual Italian restaurant has abandoned its plans to open this summer at 4219 Fairfax Drive, across the street from the Ballston Metro. Instead, owner Burak Temel told ARLnow that he intends to open a kiosk in the food court at Ballston Quarter.
