An office building right across from the Clarendon Metro station is finally filling some vacant retail bays.

The owner of the office tower at 3101 Wilson Blvd just announced three new retail tenants on the ground floor: bakery and cafe chain Paris  Baguette, nostalgic confectionary chain Kilwins, and wellness clinic chain Relive Health.

Former Clarendon mainstay Mister Days Sports Rock Cafe is set to reopen in June with only slight changes to its concept and dining options.

Under the leadership of its original owner, Bobby Lee, the restaurant aims to revive aspects of the beloved sports bar atmosphere that patrons enjoyed at its previous Clarendon location — now home to The Renegade — before Mister Days closed in 2019.

After more than two years of anticipation, Wagamama appears to be preparing to open its Clarendon outpost.

Holes in the brown paper covering the windows reveal a mostly complete interior, with elaborate lighting fixtures and glowing point-of-sale system screens. A large “WAGAMAMA” sign can also be seen near the front entrance, ready to mount on the exterior.

Acclaimed chef Peter Chang’s second Arlington restaurant is now open.

Chang and daughter Lydia today opened NiHao, at 1550 Crystal Drive, an “all-day modern Chinese concept will highlight Sichuan cuisine with small, shareable plates that lean into the famed chef’s signature use of peppers and spice.”

After a multi-week soft opening, 2910 Kitchen & Bar is set to hold its official grand opening this weekend.

Located at 2910 Columbia Pike, the restaurant serving American cuisine will officially open on Friday, May 10 and host a Mother’s Day brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, husband-and-wife owners Raheel “Ray” Khan and Griselda Giselle Fernandez plan to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday at 5 p.m., according to a press release.

A new Japanese restaurant with an extensive sushi menu has officially opened its doors in Ballston.

Kanji Izakaya held a soft opening at 4301 Fairfax Drive last month and is in the process of building out its seating and offerings, manager Ting Chen told ARLnow.

The new 28-story apartment building at The Key development in Rosslyn is complete and seeking new tenants.

Sophie Mao, a spokesperson for the Virginia-based developer Dittmar Company, confirmed that the 514-unit residential building, known as Rosslyn Towers, officially opened this past Saturday, April 27.

The new delicatessen at 2406 Columbia Pike celebrated its grand opening last week, taking over the space previously occupied by Rappahannock Coffee. The coffee shop, a fixture for two decades, closed last year when its owner decided to retire.

A new Japanese restaurant in Ballston may open later this month.

Preparations for Kanji Izakaya have been underway at 4301 Fairfax Drive since at least last June. That’s when a permit application indicated that a new eatery was coming to the sizable former home of Willow restaurant, which closed in 2015.
