Both businesses are slated to open in The Crossing Clarendon in several months, the shopping center’s general manager, EJ Enciso, told ARLnow.

Columbia Pike Deli is officially open for business.

The new delicatessen at 2406 Columbia Pike celebrated its grand opening last week, taking over the space previously occupied by Rappahannock Coffee. The coffee shop, a fixture for two decades, closed last year when its owner decided to retire.

A new Japanese restaurant in Ballston may open later this month.

Preparations for Kanji Izakaya have been underway at 4301 Fairfax Drive since at least last June. That’s when a permit application indicated that a new eatery was coming to the sizable former home of Willow restaurant, which closed in 2015.

Featuring fresh technology, murals by local artists and a full plate of nine D.C.-area food vendors, Upside on Moore has taken over the former site of Assembly at Rosslyn City Center (above the Metro station).

Located at 4401 Wilson Blvd, formerly the home of Republik Coffee Bar, the Maryland-based coffee shop launched with a soft opening two Saturdays ago. It is now gearing up for its grand opening on Thursday, April 4, according to store manager Nadia Id Lachguer.

Reagan National Airport is getting some new places to eat, drink and shop.

Seven new concessions at DCA were announced Wednesday by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. All are expected to start construction this year, though there’s no word on opening dates.

One of Arlington’s more prolific restaurateurs has opened an eatery that promises “old-school” Italian cuisine.

Chef Mike Cordero celebrated the grand opening of Carbonara: Old School Italian & Wine Bar — at 3865 Wilson Blvd in Virginia Square — on Monday. The opening festivities continued Wednesday evening with a private dinner party for invited guests.

Following a series of delays caused by permitting issues and staff turnover, 2910 Kitchen and Bar is now set to open next month.

Since acquiring the former P. Brennan’s Pub space on Columbia Pike last year, the new owners — Raheel “Ray” Khan and his wife, Griselda Giselle Fernandez — said they faced several setbacks, including building and permitting issues, which forced them to postpone the restaurant’s opening twice.

Láylí is slated to open at 3033 Wilson Blvd within the next few months, offering an “immersive mezze and cocktail garden experience,” applicant Walid Zeytoun told ARLnow.
